Chann bhulekhe muh vich ag nun jiven chakora pa lainda ey;
Full di godi beh ke bhanvra jiddan jaan ganva lainda ey. Lakh patange ik shaman te sarh sarh ke mar jande ne; Kai papihe swaant boond layi apna aap guaande ne. Eh sabh pyaar ne ik paase de dooje nun kujh saar nahin; Kahe avtar bina gur poore pyaar da berha paar nahin. |

Just as the bird Chakor pecks fire in delusion, mistaking it as moon;
Just as the black bee (Bhanwara) enamoured of sitting in the lap of flower, loses its life; Just as millions of moths enamoured of one light, burn themselves to death; Just as several birds called Papihas ruin their lives for the sake of one drop of rain, called swati. All these are examples of one-sided love, the other side not knowing at all; Avtar says, love for God cannot succeed without the perfect True Master. |
Meaning
Without true knowledge (of God) we may get trapped. Just as the bird Chakora pecks fire in delusion, mistaking it as moon.Just as the black bee (Bhanwara) enamoured of sitting in the lap of flower, loses its life. Just as millions of moths enamoured of one light, burn themselves to death. Just as several birds called Papihas ruin their lives for the sake of one drop of rain, called swati. All these are examples of one-sided love, the other side not knowing at all. Here Baba Avtar Singh ji says, love for God cannot succeed without the perfect True Master.
